Terms

The terms,
in plain English.

These terms are between you and OMWSD LTD, who make Vantan. Nothing in them takes away your rights as a consumer under UK law.

Last updated 4 October 2026

1. Who we are

OMWSD LTD, registered in England and Wales, company number 17452769, registered office 27 Millfield Road, Albrighton, Wolverhampton, WV7 3JN, England. Questions: support@omwsd.co.uk.

2. The app

You get Vantan from Apple's App Store. Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies to the app alongside these terms; where the two differ about the app itself, Apple's agreement applies. These terms add what is particular to Vantan and to Vantan Cloud.

3. Plans and payment

  • Free is free. Plus, Cloud and Cloud with 24/7 recording are bought in the app, through Apple. Apple takes the payment; we never see your card.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel them, which you can do at any time in your Apple account (Settings → your name → Subscriptions). A cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple, under Apple's policies and your statutory rights. Apple's page for asking is reportaproblem.apple.com.
  • Prices are shown in the app before you buy. If we change a subscription's price, Apple tells you first and, where the law or Apple requires it, asks you to agree.

4. Vantan CloudWhat it is, and the limits that keep it running for everyone.

Vantan Cloud stores your home's encrypted clips, delivers its alerts and relays live video when you watch from outside. What it sends and what our servers can see is set out in the privacy policy. These limits apply to each home:

  • Event clips are kept 60 days; ones you star are kept until you delete them. Event storage is capped at 200 GiB, and a home may upload up to 20 GiB of clips in a day.
  • Around-the-clock recording keeps 30 days, from as many cameras as your plan covers, each from the camera's second stream at up to 300 kbps.
  • Up to four people can watch a home live from outside at once. A live session lasts up to an hour, and ends after two minutes with nothing being watched.
  • Up to 60 alerts an hour per home are delivered.

These are generous for a home.

When Cloud ends, Vantan carries on at home as before, and what Cloud holds for your home is deleted 60 days later. You can delete your account and everything with it at any time from the app.

5. Not an alarm service

Vantan helps you keep an eye on your home. It is not a monitored alarm, it does not call the emergency services, and nobody at OMWSD watches your cameras — we cannot. Alerts depend on your cameras, your home network, your internet connection, Apple's push service and ours, any of which can be slow or unavailable. Please do not rely on Vantan as your only protection for people or property, and in an emergency call 999.

6. Your cameras and the law

You are responsible for how you use your cameras and what they record: that you have the right to connect to them, and that your use of them is lawful — including the law on CCTV where a camera sees beyond your own property, and the law against watching or recording people where they can expect privacy without their knowledge. The ICO has guidance for domestic CCTV. Guest passes and shared links are yours to give; give them to people you trust.

7. Fair use

Please do not use Vantan to break the law or harm anyone; try to get into a home, account or device that is not yours; overload, probe or attack our servers; or copy, resell or reverse engineer Vantan Cloud. We may suspend an account that does, and will tell you why unless the law prevents it.

8. What we are responsible for

We will provide Vantan with reasonable care and skill, and if it is faulty you have rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 — these terms do not change them.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. Otherwise, we are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable, for losses caused by things outside our reasonable control, or for a loss to a business; and our total liability to you for Vantan Cloud is limited to what you paid for it in the twelve months before the problem.

Because what Cloud stores is encrypted with keys only your devices hold, we cannot recover it if every one of your devices is lost. Keep at least one device signed in.

9. Changes, and ending

We may change these terms — to reflect a change in the law, in how Vantan works, or to be clearer. If a change matters, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect; if you do not agree, you can cancel. If we ever stop offering Vantan Cloud, we will give you at least 60 days' notice so you can save what you want to keep, and help you get a refund from Apple for any period you have paid for and cannot use.

10. The law that applies

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your own courts.
