Which cameras work with Vantan?
Cameras that offer an RTSP stream, which is most IP cameras and many doorbells and recorders. Vantan has ready-made settings for cameras from Hikvision, Dahua, Reolink, TP-Link Tapo, Axis, Amcrest, Uniview, Hanwha Vision, ANNKE, EZVIZ, Lorex, UniFi Protect and many others, and tests a camera before saving it, telling you in a sentence what worked. Some makers' cameras send video only to their own cloud and offer no stream; Vantan says so rather than pretending.
Can you see my cameras?
No. Without Vantan Cloud, nothing reaches us at all — the video goes from your camera to your phone. With Cloud, clips, alerts and live video are encrypted on your devices with keys only they hold, so our servers store and pass on what they cannot open. What the servers can see is listed in full in the privacy policy.
What is a watcher?
A spare iPhone or iPad left at home, plugged in, that watches your cameras for Vantan Cloud. It recognises what happens — a person at the door, a smoke alarm — and sends the encrypted alert to your phone wherever you are. It is how alerts work without anything at home being sent to us to look at.
Can I use a spare iPhone as a camera?
Yes, on every plan. An old iPhone or iPad becomes a camera the others in the house can watch, with recognition running on it.
How do I cancel?
In your Apple account: on your iPhone, Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Vantan. It stops at the end of the period you have paid for. Vantan carries on at home as before; what Vantan Cloud holds for your home is deleted 60 days after Cloud ends.
How do I delete my account?
In Vantan's Settings, under Vantan Cloud. It deletes every home you own, its clips and recordings, your devices and your account at once, and revokes Sign in with Apple. Cancel the subscription in your Apple account too — Apple keeps billing until it is cancelled there.
Is Vantan on Android?
No. Vantan is made for iPhone and iPad.
